Across the U.S. and in the state of Tennessee, advancing education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) is a priority. As a founding sponsor of The Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (CGLA), the Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation hosted the Odyssey 2011 Luncheon and Awards Ceremony. The event recognized five women for their accomplishments in STEM related careers and honored Dr. Cecelia Wigal with the Inaugural Supernova Award. Two students, N’Seya Cosme and Te’ara Jones, were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in STEM. The keynote speaker for the event was award-winning CNN Anchor and Special Correspondent Soledad O’Brien.
